Cetitrizine in the Treatment of Chronic Urticaria

Abstract
|

|
Cetirizine was investigated to evaluate the usefulness and the safety in chronic idiopat urticaria by open study.
In a 8-week study, a new H1-antagonist cetirizine proved to be effective in the treatment chronic urticaria
Papules, erythema and itching were significantly reduced.
In 21 of 31 cetirizine treated patients the outcome was considered good to excellent. No significant side effects were reported.
